Open Enrollment starts. This is the first day you can apply for 2017 coverage

The last date to pay your bill and enroll for coverage that starts January 1, 2017. Enrollment is only considered complete when you have finished these steps:
- Submit your eligibility application to see if you qualify for MassHealth, Health Connector, or ConnectorCare coverage. (If you qualify for MassHealth or another assistance program, you will receive a notice in the mail with next steps.)
If you qualify for MassHealth or another assistance program, you will receive a notice in the mail with next steps.
If you qualify to shop for Health Connector or ConnectorCare plans, you must also do the following:
- Choose a plan, AND
- Make your first premium payment in-full.
January 1, 2017
The date 2016 coverage can start if you completed enrollment by December 23, 2015.
January 23, 2017
The last date to pay your bill and enroll in a Health Connector plan that starts February 1, 2017.
January 31, 2017
The federal Open Enrollment period ends January 31, 2017. If you miss this deadline, you can’t sign up for a health plan inside or outside the Health Connector until the next Open Enrollment period expected to be in the fall of 2017. The only exception is if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, are applying for a dental plan, or qualify for help paying for health coverage including ConnectorCare, MassHealth, Children’s Medical Security Plan (CMSP), or Health Safety Net.
If you are applying for coverage through MassHealth, you can apply any time during the year.
