Attention Commonwealth Care Members
Do you want to change your health insurance plan?
Now is the time.
In the month of May, you will receive an Open Enrollment packet. During Open Enrollment, you can change your health plan for any reason. Any change you make will take effect July 1, 2009.
Your Open Enrollment packet shows the Commonwealth Care health plans that you can choose from, new monthly premium and copayment amounts and the steps to take to change your health insurance plan.
Read the information carefully so that you can make the health plan choice that is best for you. If you live in an area where more than one health plan is available you can change your health plan for any reason.
Depending on where you live, you may have a new health plan available to you and your monthly premium and copayment amounts may be changing. Details about these changes are in your packet.
What do you need to do?
If you are happy with the health plan you have now, you do not need to do anything. You will stay enrolled with your current health plan.
If you want to change your plan, call Commonwealth Care Customer Service or log into your account to make your selection. Your change must be made by June 25, 2009. If this is your first time using the website, follow the instructions below.

How a can I learn more about health plans available in my area?
Each Commonwealth Care health plan offers the same medical services, but may have different extra services, such as programs for weight loss or diabetes management. Some offer telephone help lines or discounts at fitness centers.
Read the Health Plan Information descriptions of the plans that are available to you and visit the health plan websites to see which plans offer extra services you want or need.
How do I use the website?
You can review your health plan option and make changes online. Go to www.MAHealthConnector.org. To change your health plan over the web you must first create an online account.
Create an account
- Log on to www.MAHealthConnector.org
- Click Register for access to your account
- Complete all fields marked by a red asterisk (*) Note: your username and password are case sensitive
- Click the Next button. After you register, you will see a confirmation message
- Click Return to go back to the Connector homepage then Click Log-in to access your account information
Log in
- From the Connector homepage, Click Log-in
- Enter your username and password and Click Log-in
- You will see My Home page where you can review your personal information
- Click Account History, then Click Enroll/Change Plan
- Follow the instructions on each page, when you are finished, Click Quit
