Who We Are
We are an independent state agency that helps Massachusetts residents find health insurance coverage and avoid tax penalties.
Commonwealth Care is our low or no-cost health insurance for people who qualify.
Most Massachusetts adults are now required to have health insurance. We determine what that health insurance should cover to meet that requirement. We also provide exemptions for people who cannot afford a health plan because of financial hardship.
